Its a B-Side day.

The webcast radio I've been rocking lately is playing B-Sides by bands I like. Heard some odd "And you will know us by the trail of the dead" and getting some cool "Thievery Coporation" right now. It fits the day real well. I'm just going for an unusual type of life today.

It was a rough night followed by a groggy morning. As I walked in circles in front of the train station, I realized I was skipping songs on the player so I wasn't listening to the singles. Or at least the well-known songs. I don't think I've even seen a single in 5 years. But I continued on to work, didn't grab a coffee or a doughnut as is my normal ploy. It just isn't that kind of day. Instead, I dropped by a rib joint, picked up some hashbrowns which may or may not be the greatest form of potato ever, and rolled into work.

The work-a-day world for me today is laughable. No work, taunting the cubs fans buying tickets and not even making my usual cracks about my former team member being a manager of 10 people starting Monday. Which is my usual form for taking out the pain of a night of drinking. I didn't even head over to the hidey hole and pass out for an hour. Which is an integral part of my plan for dealing with Thursday Night Drinking.

I think this is not strictly due to TND. An awesome girl called me on Wednesday. She is cute, funny and amazingly intelligent. Hell, she's the one who told me about the terrible, terrible Tucker Max. I was, of course, a bumbling, mumbling moron as we spoke. These things happen in a crowded coffee shop on a cell phone while playing palace. No, it didn't occur to me until just now that I should have gone outside. But, this girl was calling to make sure I was going to the Hockey Tournament this weekend. So maybe(read: assuredly) I am reading too much into the call, but I am now all excited for the weekend. Even more then normal.

And yes I am leaving work early to get down to Champaign for practice tonight. Its gonna be hockey in 13 foot deep water hell. Balls. Gonna die.

And now, lunch, and making a complete ass of myself to my coworkers. Although both of those fall into my fortes of life, I'm gonna do it with self deprecating humor. Which, shit, also common. I guess the B-Side is still the music. Yeah, gonna do it with the B-Sides.

I am alive!!

I have finished my meds and am heading back to hockey practice today. I expect that I will be slow, short of breath and easily burned by everyone there. It will be good times to be back in the water, but the actual time in the water will be depressing and sad. Don't cry for me readers, for I know I suck.

On the upside, I've got a tournament in Champaign this weekend. That's right, when did I get the ear infection from hell? At a tournament in Michigan. Was I more in shape, and hence a strong immune system, then or now? Then. Do I know how to not be retarded? No.

Expect me to actually have the plague next Monday; it will be good times for all as I single-handedly bring the Western World to its epidemic knees. Nothing quite like being a host to the death of the world. I hope that I create undead instead of dead. Everyone seems to have such exciting times when there are undead about. I'd like that to be my legacy: He gave us interesting times. And ate Auntie's brains.

I shall now continue with that working thing that I have heard so much about. Apparently, they expect to you actually WORK when they pay you. Sheesh, the nerve of some people.

And in conclusion, I am a big pansy. Why? No, not because I was mugged by 13 year old girls last night, but because I was brung low by an ear infection. A pansy-assed ear infection. I've had these before. I swam for over a decade. An ear infection never got me like this. Fevers, swollen glands, fuzzy head...

Good to know I was tougher in eighth grade then I am now. Good times.

With the exception of being told that I am big pansy and can't handle my bacteria, my visit to yon doctor went exactly as planned. He told me I had an ear infection, it was basically gone, here's a prescription for one week of amoxicillin and have a good day.

*cough*pansy*cough*

Tomorrow is back to work wherein I will try very, very hard not to get fired. We will see if I am effective. I think I am going to have to yell at people tomorrow. Who? Not entirely sure, but I do know that whoever it is I am going to be yelling at, I report to them. Which means they can probably get me fired. Like I said, I am going to have to try not to get fired. Because, really? There are like 2 open jobs right now. I've applied both places and both told me to stop bothering them.

GREATFUCKINGTIMES.

Alright, I lied real bad last week. I was not getting healthy. Well, maybe I was, but I think it was just the eye of the fucking ebola virus. Last week it was all about the crazy fevers, this week, the throat stabbing Lymph Node infection of Doom.

I think I am almost healthy, but just to make sure I am healthy by Monday, I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for then. Last time I got real sick I had pneumonia in eighth grade. It was magical. It was also the last time I went to a doctor for anything other then a routine checkup. Why you ask? Well, doc didn't figure out UNTIL I WAS TOTALLY HEALTHY that I had pneumonia. Which, hey, you could have said I had the magical tryptodeathhead virus and it wouldn't have mattered. I was ALREADY HEALTHY.

But I'm going to a new doctor on Monday. Hopefully he will be all, "you *had* this nasty bug. Here's some antibiotics to finish the awesome job your immune system did."

The real down side? I have had 3 solid posts half written in my head this past week, but all were forgotten because I am in bed 25 minutes after I get home from work. So yeah, no post about how much I hate clubs and if you are attempting to pick up the ladies at a club, you must follow these rules. Because, fucking ugh, dude, lose the bleached, starched bright white collar on a pink pinstripped shirt. Just un-fucking-necessary.

And now its Saturday at 1:16 pm. I am going to walk up to Borders and buy more music I don't need but its gonna be awesome anyway.

Oh, Minish Cap, although a video game, is a better person then you are. Yes, it is that good.

That's all for me.

Oh, I am almost healthy now. Almost.

Sick day!!

I woke up in a feverish sweat at about 2.30 am. And 3.30 am. And 7.30 am. I decided I was not going into work today. That bastion of corporate fuzz can live without me for the day.

This is an interesting illness. It comes with fever, headache and back spasms. Yeah, I think I can eat whatever I want and not get nauseous, but heaven forbid if I lay on my bed for too long. If I do that, BAM! My lower back erupts into a world of pain and what feels like my kidneys are exploding in slow motion. They explode for like 20 minutes, then settle back into their normal existance of, you know, not exploding.

This is going to be an awesome day.

It is days like today where I wished I owned a console so I could play video games for like 13 hours in one day. Stupid me not planning for my own entertainment when sick.

Okay, back to napping and maybe when next I awake I will have some awesome visions to share.
