POST FIESTA

I had an awesome day at work. Partly, it was because I showed up at quarter after 10. With a hangover for Dan notonthisblog and Hex came over last night and drank here until 3 am. I was not complaining, but I did wake up a touch drunk. Thank you CTA!

And OMF wasn't there, which was nice. He's, well, he's an OMF! (our mutual friend: hint, lies).

Mainly, its because I'm continuing to redefine my role as a, "Project Manager." That title? That title can kiss my ass. I'm a team lead and a designer. I'm an architect by default. And I'm a programmer when my other devs are busy or have gone home. Lazy bastards. It was only 6.30 pm! Where were you? That's going to show up negatively on your next report, "will not work 10 hour days."

Wait, that's a good thing.

What am I finding? I don't mind paper work and documentation, but I'm not willing to do your part of it anymore. That big fancy thing that needs a total understanding of the business? Yeah, I'm not filling it out anymore. Ever. That thing can bite me. Guess what I don't have? If you said, "a total understanding of the business" you'd be correct. I'm gonna keep spreading my love of excel spreadsheets and trying to not deal with word documents unless necessary. And by, 'necessary,' I mean, "someone is going to die without this word doc."

Guess how many lives depend on me filling out a word doc form for a market research firm?

And now, I'm heading to the airport to pick up my girlfriend. Again. I went up last night at 7. She was, surprisingly to me, not there. She was, however, still in Mass. Whoops. Oh, and her flight wasn't supposed to get in until 9 pm tonight. It left at 7. From Mass. So, really, it left at 6 pm to me.

She is going to buy me a wall calendar and give me quizzes once a week about what's on there. I will not be amused.
