Weekend of live music.
It starts on a cool, windy Friday. I'm rockin the redline to the Metro. I meet up with Paul(notonthisblog) for some beer and Sufjan Stevens. If you get the chance, you are required by law to go see this guy. Its an odd, awesome show. It will be wisper quiet. You will be sushed for talking too loud (I was!) and, if you're lucky, you will see all eight of them in full UofI at Urbana-Champaign Cheerleader getups. They did cheers. It was, quiet obviously, spectacular.
Saturday brought my friend's record release show. Which none of you people went to because you obviously don't understand the joys of powerish pop punk played in a shitty, shitty venue. Elbo Room is fun, but that place is a hole of low ceilings and big welts on my forehead. The show was good. They are getting more polished, which is good for them. There are enough crappy pop bands out there who think that playing out of time is good. No, see, the Pixies sounded out of time at points, but they really weren't. And the pixies have talent. You don't. Cut it out.
White Sox beat the tribe last night! Its not music related, but I am so shocked I am actually numb. Its a good time for the black and white.
And yes Paul, we will never hang out again. I mean, wait, shit, that's not what I meant. I meant we will soon be married. Yes. That's it. Don't tell Sarah.
