Sorry, I'm having issues finding time to put up grog posts. Something about Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time series. Think really amazing books, then make sure they are all a minimum of 600 pages. I am currently on book 4. Its "only" 980 pgs. Book 5 is longer. Blame the nonPat. They are his books, I'm just borrowing.

Otherwise I've been doing almost nothing. Playing Brute Force: No Need for a plot with Shine. Finished off some anime series that I have no intention of ever admitting to watching. And if you ask, I will tell you Cowboy Bebop and smack you.

Otherwise, work starts in 'bout 6 weeks. Then I'm gonna be on here all the fscking time. You people won't be able to keep up with my mad posting skills.

two notes:

1.) This is no longer a blog. This is a grog. I will soon be sending an email to blogspot in an attempt to get them to change the name to "grogspot".

2.) More people need to patronize Sean's Rhino Bar on 103rd and Western. I walked in with 5 dollars in my pocket. Tipped a dollar. Walked out after having 6 beers. Yes, I got comped 2 beers. What an amazing place. I need to be there more often.

I've never had a lot of luck with my love life. Mainly this is because I don't pay enough attention. Or care, really. However, I'm starting to believe that its not just me. Now, all guys, at one point or another, think, "ohh, all women hate me. I'm such a loser. Waaahh." I've definetly had that stage. Then I found beer and it was no trouble at all. However, I am starting to lean back towards that idea without the crying bit.

I give you, exhibit A:

Pat : man, you get my hopes up, and then cruelly smack them down
Pat : you're nothing but cold to me
Julie : I am a woman ya know
Pat : fair enough
Pat : that totally explains why you're cold to me
Pat : ahh, and the universe once again rights itself

So apparently it isn't just me. Thanks a lot, womankind. As if I wasn't apathetic enough towards you. Now that I know you're actively agaisnt me, well, fsck off.

And after re-reading my last post, I'd just like to point out that I'm not playing tabletop, dice and dungeon master type games. Its all video games. I'm not sure if that's better, but at the very least I'm not one of those damn D&D monkeys that wear cloaks and end up thinking they're vampires when they're 22 and living in their parent's basement.

OFF TO PARTY WITH THE REST OF THE BLOG. PEACE.

So I'm still rocking the nothingness. Its fun, I guess. Really, I've had more fun with a stuffed monkey, a buckey of beer and a live donkey. But really, what's more fun than a donkey?

I started playing another RPG with Dan Shine last night. Its alright. Its the official D&D one no less. I'm still getting used to actually having useful arrows. Something Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance just didn't have. Nothing else gaming related except that I hate my computer even more right now because I can't play FF11 and I really, really, really want to. FSCK.

I have now seen both endings to Neon Genesis: Evangelion. Second ending seems almost spiteful from the director. As if he's actually pissed off that's he did it. Of course, he only did it because he actually received death threats for what might have been one of the greatest endings ever. Grumble, grumble. Fucking philistines.

And now I have to either a.) find and then purchase a new anime to watch or b.) start watching the Tenchis with Dan Shine. We need our Anime. I don't know if I want to rock the Tenchi. But we'll see.

THAT'S ALL FROM THIS ROCKING KID.

Its a lazy sunday. I'm not up to anything, this whole waiting until January for my job thing is starting to wear and my computer is rapidly approaching "pile of crap" phase. Its not the hardware. What happened is that I got some sweet, sweet spyware installed by those fuckheads over at nCase. In my somewhat overzealous drive to eliminate said spyware, I kind de-nutted IE. IE can't accpet cookies, it can't create bookmarks and it can't download anything. So I can't upgrade it either.

Now, I've been having problems with this 'puter for awhile, but I don't have any OS installation discs. And I can't download any. So if anybody out there has a copy of something like Win2k or Red Hat 9.x and wants to send it my way drop me a line here. I'll shoot you some cash for postage and a beer or something.

Otherwise, Bears lost to the Lions. Which is surprising because they lost by two and Paul "Mr. Perfect" Edinger missed two of three field goal attempts. F-thy Paulie. Stay in Detroit, ya bum.

Finally finished "Neon Genesis: Evangelion" on friday. It was amazing. Immediately afterwards I was very confused because there is such an abrubt change in the feel between the first 25 episodes and the last two. It took me awhile to get it, but once I did. Oh man. That series is amazing. Just effing brillant.

Next Great Band: Jet. They do that Ipod commercial where it sounds like "The Vines" or "The White Stripes". Solid Band.

"I need a girl who can roll with my arrangements."
-Kid Spatula

So I honestly think its a crime. On the Kid Spatula, "Jungle Remix", the best freaking part is at the end. So if I want to listen to it, I have to go through 73 minutes of not quite as good stuff, for the three awesome minutes at the end. And yes, this is only occuring because I lost the remote to my player. Bite me.

Lawn has been raked, err, mowed. Stupid fucking leaves.

"I rock harder than you do. Wanna know how I know? My wrist hurts from throwing so many devil horns."

So yes, I should have put this up a while ago. However, I'm lazy. And this, as we know, is one of the three pieces to my tripartite soul. The other two: anger and craving beer.

I've got a job. I'm a gonna be a consultant for Kensington Resources. Its a lot of travel, read: mon to fri. Its totally nutty stuff, read: I will have multiple expense accounts. I am gonna feel kinda strange, read: I will be living with the parents on the weekends for quite some time.

But hey, its a job, they're gonna give me money, I'm gonna code something or other and then, then I'm gonna go roll in the hay or something. Not really sure why, its just seems like fun.

Music that's been rocking my world lately:
Manitoba, "Up in Flames". Holy sweet shit is this album amazing. Just great. Its got layers to its layers. I get lost everytime I listen to it.

Fourtet, "Pause" Any song that has as its main loop a 12 yr old girl chanting/singing "Ohh, no, no more mosquitos" is amazing in my book.

Kid Spatula, "Jungle Remix". That might not be the name, but I'm listening to it right now and its one 73 minute track. Usually stuff like this pisses me off, but its really a full album that just had the track seperations glossed over really well. Its TIGHT.

On Wednesday I was up at Rhino Bar alone celebrating my new job and watching the Bulls game. Game ended, I was about done with my beer and some dude starts talking to me. Turns out he's a major player in Lithuanian politics. He's an IP attorney by day and a man who caused Lithuania to rewrite 25% of their constitution by night. See, its by night because Lithuania is far away, so when they're doing their work, its night over here. Get it? eh? eh?

Alright, 'nuff of that. So now its time for me to go mow the leaves. My mom had the awesome realization at one point that you don't have to rake if you have a bagging mower. We have a bagging mower and I sure as fuck hate raking. Even more than lawn mowing. There's just something absolutely awful about raking leaves. Dunno what it is. I can't stand it.

I'd just like to say, I find it hard to believe that my mother has never heard of "noon thirty". Unbelieveable. Just insane. Oh well. Back to the salt mines and finding out just what exactly I was saving when I was seven.

Stupid fucking trip through memory lane.

So I was in Champaign for awhile. It was good times. I had interviews with Microsoft and some subsidiary of Allstate that can only be found by the light of a red moon in the forests of Alcazar on the left side of the high mountains of Shenrala. No, really. I found out that I was actually interviewing for a specific project of a wholly owned subsidiary that is a contracting/consultancy group of Allstate. Yeah, I didn't fucking get it either.

The interviews went well. I did stuff. I didn't fart. I didn't intentionally insult anyone. I didn't, sadly, refer to Microsoft as the "Evil Empire" during the Microsoft interview. I really should have. Now I'm gonna have to get another interview to do that. Damnit.

Friday, I got hella drunk. Julie was in town with Laura and some other people. I got to Legends and almost died of happiness. I saw bottles of miller lite. Big bottles. 40 sized bottles. My eyes filled with tears and I gleefully exclaimed to my nearest friend: "I gotta get me several of those." Turns out it was only 24 ounces, not 40. Rats. However, I did call some girl dressed up in reverse lederhosen "Heidi" on my way back from the bar. She wouldn't get out of my way. So I called her Heidi, she moved, then she got all pissed off as I walked away. She should be expecting it after she wears Lederhosen.

Best moment of my life: I was walking into Legend's on friday. I'm about 100 feet away. AC Slater comes up to me. Dressed in the wrestling tunic thing and a really bad black curly wig, he says to me, "High fives!" I walk past him. He gets belligerent. He says, "What, no high fives?" I say, "No. You're dirty." And continue walking. I don't think I've ever been that mean in all my life. It felt pretty good.

Saturday was super quiet. Couple of beers. Lots and lots of SSX 3. Awesome game. I'm an awsome snowboarder now. I can seriously "thrash" the slopes. And I watched Mandy play Lacrosse. Go U of I Lacrosse for kicking ass.

This week in Anime Viewing: Saw the first Foolie Coolie. Amazing. The art, the dialogue, the siliness. This is an amazing show. Yes, I know its about 6 months old or so. Its still awesome. I also saw the Ruroni Kenshin Ovas. These are prequel things. They explain Kenshin's Past and how he becomes the Batosi. Oh, it also tells you where the scar comes from. I highly suggest them.

So today, I'm working on my "Junk Drawer". Its my drawer I've been tossing stuff into for years. Its a little frightening. I just found a film tube filled with teeth. Presumably my teeth, but I'm not sure. I closed it rather quickly.

Tonight, I hope, will be more Evangelion, Halo and then sleep. I have another interview tomorrow. W00t!!
